תְּהִלִּים עז
Tehillim / Psalms 77
ב.
2.
קוֹלִי אֶל-אֱלֹהִים וְאֶצְעָקָה;
I cry aloud to God;
קוֹלִי אֶל-אֱלֹהִים, וְהַאֲזִין אֵלָי.
I cry to God that he may give ear to me.
ג.
3.
בְּיוֹם צָרָתִי, אֲדֹנָי דָּרָשְׁתִּי:
In my time of distress I turn to the Lord,
לַיְלָה נִגְּרָה–וְלֹא תָפוּג;
with my hand [uplifted]; [my eyes] flow all night without respite;
מֵאֲנָה הִנָּחֵם נַפְשִׁי.
I will not be comforted.
ד.
4.
אֶזְכְּרָה אֱלֹהִים וְאֶהֱמָיָה;
I call God to mind, I moan,
אָשִׂיחָה, וְתִתְעַטֵּף רוּחִי סֶלָה.
I complain, my spirit fails. Selah.
ה.
5.
אָחַזְתָּ, שְׁמֻרוֹת עֵינָי;
You have held my eyelids open;
נִפְעַמְתִּי, וְלֹא אֲדַבֵּר.
I am overwrought, I cannot speak.
ו.
6.
חִשַּׁבְתִּי יָמִים מִקֶּדֶם–
My thoughts turn to days of old,
שְׁנוֹת, עוֹלָמִים.
to years long past.
ז.
7.
אֶזְכְּרָה נְגִינָתִי, בַּלָּיְלָה:
I recall at night their jibes at me;
עִם-לְבָבִי אָשִׂיחָה;
I commune with myself;
וַיְחַפֵּשׂ רוּחִי.
my spirit inquires,
ח.
8.
הַלְעוֹלָמִים, יִזְנַח אֲדֹנָי;
“Will the Lord reject forever
וְלֹא-יֹסִיף לִרְצוֹת עוֹד.
and never again show favor?
ט.
9.
הֶאָפֵס לָנֶצַח חַסְדּוֹ;
Has His faithfulness disappeared forever?
גָּמַר אֹמֶר, לְדֹר וָדֹר.
Will His promise be unfulfilled for all time?
י.
10.
הֲשָׁכַח חַנּוֹת אֵל;
Has God forgotten how to pity?
אִם-קָפַץ בְּאַף, רַחֲמָיו סֶלָה.
Has He in anger stifled His compassion?” Selah.
יא.
11.
וָאֹמַר, חַלּוֹתִי הִיא–
And I said “It is my fault
שְׁנוֹת, יְמִין עֶלְיוֹן.
that the right hand of the Most High has changed.”

20.
לֶהֱוֵא שְׁמֵהּ דִּי-אֱלָהָא מְבָרַךְ, מִן-עָלְמָא וְעַד עָלְמָא:
Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever,
דִּי חָכְמְתָא וּגְבוּרְתָא, דִּי לֵהּ-הִיא.
For wisdom and power are His.
כב.
21.
וְהוּא מְהַשְׁנֵא עִדָּנַיָּא, וְזִמְנַיָּא,
He changes times and seasons,
מְהַעְדֵּה מַלְכִין, וּמְהָקֵים מַלְכִין;
Removes kings and installs kings.
יָהֵב חָכְמְתָא לְחַכִּימִין,
He gives the wise their wisdom
וּמַנְדְּעָא לְיָדְעֵי בִינָה.
And knowledge to those who know.
