הַשְׁכִּיבֵנוּ
Hashkiveinu / Lay Us Down
הַשְׁכִּיבֵנוּ ה’ אֱלהֵינוּ לְשָׁלום, וְהַעֲמִידֵנוּ מַלְכֵּנוּ לְחַיִּים.
Help us, Adonai, to lie down in peace, and awaken us to life again, our Sovereign.
וּפְרוש עָלֵינוּ סֻכַּת שְׁלומֶךָ. וְתַקְּנֵנוּ בְּעֵצָה טובָה מִלְּפָנֶיךָ.
Spread over us Your shelter of peace, guide us with Your good counsel.
וְהושִׁיעֵנוּ לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ.
Save us because of your mercy.
וְהָגֵן בַּעֲדֵנוּ: וְהָסֵר מֵעָלֵינוּ אויֵב דֶבֶר וְחֶרֶב וְרָעָב וְיָגון.
Shield us from enemies and pestilence, from starvation, sword, and sorrow.
וְהָסֵר שטָן מִלְפָנֵינוּ וּמֵאַחֲרֵינוּ.
Remove the evil forces that surround us.
וּבְצֵל כְּנָפֶיךָ תַּסְתִּירֵנוּ.
Shelter us in the shadow of Your wings, O God,
כִּי אֵל שׁומְרֵנוּ וּמַצִּילֵנוּ אָתָּה.
who watches over us and delivers us,
כִּי אֵל מֶלֶךְ חַנּוּן וְרַחוּם אָתָּה:
as You are a gracious and merciful Ruler.
וּשְׁמור צֵאתֵנוּ וּבואֵנוּ לְחַיִים וּלְשָׁלום מֵעַתָּה וְעַד עולָם.
Guard our coming and our going, grant us life and peace, now and always.

Prayer
יְהִי רָצון מִלְּפָנֶיךָ ה’ אֱלהֵינוּ וֵאלהֵי אֲבותֵינוּ.
Adonai our God and God of our ancestors,
שֶׁנִּשְׁמר חֻקֶּיךָ בָּעולָם הַזֶּה.
may we fulfill Your precepts in this world,
וְנִזְכֶּה וְנִחְיֶה וְנִרְאֶה וְנִירַשׁ טובָה וּבְרָכָה לִשְׁנֵי יְמות הַמָּשִׁיחַ וּלְחַיֵּי הָעולָם הַבָּא.
to be worthy of happiness and blessing in the messianic era and in the world to come.
לְמַעַן יְזַמֶּרְךָ כָבוד וְלא יִדּם.
Thus I will sing Your praise unceasingly; thus I will exalt You, Adonai my God, forever.
ה’ אֱלהַי לְעולָם אודֶךָּ: בָּרוּךְ הַגֶּבֶר אֲשֶׁר יִבְטַח בַּה’.
Blessed are those who trust in Adonai, and Adonai is their security.
